It is reaching me, how that whole thing must've looked from the outside. "I apologize for not leaving any sort of notice. I needed a break, and I had no idea I was going to end up where I did. The odd thing was, I think I'd been trying to get away from Sylar in the first place." And that reminds me. "Just what did you do to him, anyway- the one that we have? He kept going on about Angela when I was stuck in that cell with him."

"But okay, it's fine needing a break. We could all use one after this." I'm dedicated to the job, sure, but that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate time to myself. "Next time you need one, maybe you'll consider taking someone with you?"
I wait until he's buckled up and then turn the car to head home, glancing over at him briefly when he asks me about Sylar. "He's got an attachment to Angela. I made him think that she was talking to him. Why, did he seem incoherent in any way?"

I drop down into the car as he tells me to consider taking someone along for a break. I nod, thoughtfully, then give him a small smile. "I'll at least see if you need to get out yourself, first. I feel as if I haven't gotten a chance to talk to you since we started working together."
Ah, giving Sylar an attachment explains a great deal and makes sense. Now, was he incoherent...? "Not really. He did seem to have more of a death wish than usual, but I suppose that happens when one is that frustrated." I shrug. "Is that attachment something you have to keep up?" I ask, curious. I really don't know much about mental manipulation.
