Ok, Tony. I remember the 80's...and the 70's...and much of the 60's. What exactly is it that you do? That will help a lot in the "keeping an ear to the ground" thing.
what do I do?kestrels_nestFebruary 8 2008, 11:47:00 UTC
Hey,
I am working in IT at present, have done janitorial work - hauled mail, tossed papers into those metal boxes. I have worked on telephone and computer networks - I DJ and have my own gear. I have processed checks for banks - type roughly 70 wpm and can use a desk calculator processing about a 1000 items an hour (When I am listening to some good heavy metal) :-)
Basically anything in technology would be a good bet.
couple items of interest I found out yesterday - I have a year from April 1 to find another position with Comcast. If I apply for and receive the position then my years of service, vacation, benefits are all reinstated at that time - I just the 12 weeks of severance and then unemployment if can not land a position.
I also had someone who is well placed mention they will find something for me - I apparently made an impression on him and knowing how he won a senate seat against the party politic (basically like Ballard, went it alone and still won) that made me feel a little better.
