So, I'm reading my BB draft, chugging along and thinking, "Ha, not bad!" when I get to a part where a giant chunk of it is MISSING!! And I don't know where it is or what happened. What the fuck happened? I have no idea what I did, or when. Life is exciting, my friends ( Read more... )

It's not as bad as it seemed at first--I thought I had this *huge* gap but when I reread it without screams in my head, it turned out not so bad--it might have been for the best because I ended up going with a small, bridge bit instead and jumping right into the action, so to speak. But yeah, I've had the nightmare of trying to reproduce pages and pages of stuff that I managed to kill somehow.

I've been known to do better the second time around, so maybe sometimes it's the work of the muses quietly letting you know you can do better. Maybe your weird hipster doggie is secretly a manifestation of your muse! :)

::nods:: We had a cat like that once. Spoke in a New Joisey accent. All kindsa stuff went on when he was around and nobody was looking.

Hope you find your missing text--you keep earlier drafts?

You know!!! The real secret lives of pets... :D

What I did was stare at it really hard, and realize that whatever I had there before didn't matter, that all I needed was a little bridgey bit, which I am working on now. This one is very strange. Usually when I reread, I end up chopping out tons of stuff, but with this one, I keep adding things in. It doesn't feel bloaty though, at least not to me.

You go! I'm raising my coffee cup in encouragement, since I don't have alcohol at the moment.

Eeep! Oh noes! I totally believe the dog edited you story. We've always had cats and dogs that behaved very oddly. Heck, Moose loved to sit on my computer chair... and the keyboard. :P

Now, I'm gonna be wondering if every short, hairy, hipster guy I see is your dog. LOL

And you can ramble all you like. ♥

Ug, so sorry about your missing writing. I do that sometimes with my reviews - somehow erasing it without realizing.
LOL love the idea about what your dog is up to while you are all gone :D Maybe he did!
