The final colours have been decided. It looks much better now. The previous colours really only matched one side. I have also succeeded in customizing the comment links. The layout now fades when you exit, like the fleeting form of a nobody. I think I have also managed to discover a perfect colour scheme. The font has been changed to Courier New which looks cleaner. The previous font was blurry for some reason when bolded. My research is almost complete.

These past experiments have been failing... I cannot customize the navigation text with the semi-transparent background, it needs to be switched to transparent. Unfortunately that is not a sacrifice I am willing to make. I should be able to change the comment link text, but first I must decide what I want to write there. The semi-transparent trials were successful. You can now see the background without making the entries difficult to read. With my last report, I was also able to find that I did need to add fixed bg and no-repeat overides. That problem has now been resolved.
