She puts her hands on her hips, and examines them. The shifts in the wolf's demeanor, the fade of his growl, the wolf's obvious protectiveness. Yes, he was also through the tree, and he is, as she is, a sentient creature.
Priya half-bows to both of them.
"Welcome to Rowan," says Priya. "You've both just been seized from your own world and transported to this one via a magical portal. I'm sorry. It can be quite a trial."

"Thanks. Now if you can just make your magic tree magically portal us back home, that'd be great," he says as he pulls the cloak around himself and stands by Nessie again. Priya doesn't look all that harmful, and he's pretty sure he could get Nessie out of the way if it came to it. He just doesn't love the whole idea of being kidnapped from...Earth.

"There's quite the detailed history behind this portal," she tells them, in a manner reminiscent of a history lecturer. "In ages past, it was a way to trade with many worlds, all over the possible universes. But, sometime in the past, it closed, and this world was trapped, on its own. Now the portal opens again, but it only goes one way." A shake of her head.
Gentler, now: "I'm afraid there is no way back."

"Great lesson, that's awesome. No offense but it sounds like something out of Narnia. Or one of those crappy fantasy TV shows." He screws his face up at that because it isn't like their life is normal.
There are a few ways this can go, and Jacob runs through them fairly methodically. Giving into the instinct to try to tear everything in sight apart is already off the table, so that leaves diplomacy which he's just fantastic at, and hitting the centaur. Which also isn't great for Nessie's well being. If he were alone, things would have turned out much differently. "Okay. Okay, now what?"
