Cassandra had been restless. Her feet yearned to move and so, at last, she surrendered to them, grabbing her ill-gotten quiver and bow. She meant to head down to the old, gnarled tree, and get back to the task of killing it slowly with arrows. But something caught her attention. Someone caught her attention.

She pulled into the dark shadow of a building to watch the show. Magician. The same silvery gray aura. She had never seen any of the others attempt spells quite like that before. Then again, there was little occasion for any of the worldwalkers to be putting on a show for others. Such was an act of merriment. They had been far too concerned with their own survival.

As the dragon flew away and the man gave the girl a coin, Cassandra clapped her hands quietly. Amusing. But still, Cassandra remained where she was. This girl was not necessarily harmless, even if her last trick seemed that way. She was not a worldwalker. Cassandra couldn't trust her.

Cassandra caught the smile and warmed up to Min a bit more. "Sounds like a little philosopher," she murmured. There was something special in the bond between sisters. At least, there normally was. Cassandra had experienced that in plenty of her visions. Even Clymnestra and Helen, who truly put fun in dysfunction, had a deep rooted connection that could never be broken, in spite of jealousy and pettiness.

"Do you have brothers?" she asked.

"No brothers," Irmingard answered, and her eyes narrowed just a bit through her smile. This was odd, wasn't it? Her and a worldwalker, standing around discussing her life as though it were something of special interest. Min's life was of very little interest to most people. The questions were starting to get unnerving.

"Though there are a few fellows in Landing who'd be willing to smash someone's face in on my behalf, and I think that makes up for it, more or less." There. A little joke, a bit of half-truth, and Min was almost in her element again.

Another slight smile hit Cassandra. Oh. So Min was that type of girl, was she? Well, there was plenty of experience in Cassandra's past with that. "One boy in particular?" she asked, half teasing, half serious. She was curious, but felt that perhaps she might go too far.

"Where are you staying in Jhelbor?" she asked, deftly changing the subject with celerity. "If you haven't found a place yet, you can certainly use my apartment until you do. I'm hardly ever in it." That, and there was nothing worth stealing. Cassandra's trust only went so far. Given the fact that there was no such thing as a gift in Rowan, she added quickly, "I assure you, my price will be lower than any inn."

Min shrugged coyly at the question without intending to answer verbally -- so it was a good thing that Cassandra moved on.

At the offer she pouted a bit, in thought. From what she'd heard, there were still plenty of still-empty residences in Jhelbor waiting to be claimed... but anything she found would likely be cold, and unfurnished, and generally uncomfortable until she could get it appointed to a minimum.

"I may just take you up on that." There was still the chance that this Cassandra was conning her somehow, but if she was, Min couldn't see the game yet. "Why so generous? Or are you just that interested in the locals?" She managed to make the question sound more curious than suspicious.

Cassandra was interested in the locals right now. Interested in locals that, perhaps, might not want to use or manipulate her. She decided, however, that such a comment would not come out politely if she said it, so against her nature, she restrained herself. Somehow.

"I don't think there's ever such a thing as too many friends," Cassandra told her, attempting to keep her tone level, free of slyness or play. "Besides, if you're going to write to your sister of us, the least I can do is make sure you have the entire story."

Involuntarily, Min's eyebrows shot upward. This offer was looking better by the moment, and she could only stand still so much longer before the cold started getting to her. And time was magic and money, after all.

Besides -- all she really had to do to find out if Cassandra was legit was ask around to the people who'd been here longer. Surely they would know who the real worldwalkers were.

"You know, I believe I will be stopping by." After inquiring about directions, Min bowed her head with a smile. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Cassandra of Troy, but duty calls." She made a grand gesture with one hand -- getting back into performance mode already.
