The arena, just to the south of the Dangerfield city walls, was not as impressive as the grand hall of the Cathedral, which was normally reserved for town hall meetings. But, hastily decorated and prepared as it was, it still made a fitting place for such an illustrious meeting ( Read more... )

Temeraire was happy to be included in the meeting, though of course it would have been ridiculous for him not to have been. He also thought a town hall meeting was a great idea and thought that everyone should have them more often as long as he could come. Also, someone had roasted him a cow, even if they had not been able to find the right spicy peppers, so he was in what was a definitively good mood for the first time in a while.

There was a sense of anticipation in the crowd, and Titus Dangerfield looked like an impressive fellow. He looked around interestedly at everyone and everything and waited for something to actually happen.

"Are we starting soon?" he said to no one in particular.

"Quite soon, quite soon," assured Titus Dangerfield. He put his hands on his hips, tilting his head at the dragon. "Your first town hall meeting?"

He settled himself down a bit more and lowered his head toward Titus Dangerfield.

"Yes, it is. I have been to meetings before, but not with a whole town there, only other members of the Aerial Corps and some generals and such."

Plans to leave the group notwithstanding, Sonic was at the meeting. Even if he suspected the entire thing would be one long way of saying, "Let's go get the druid," he thought it was important to be present at any meeting that would affect the worldwalkers in general.

Which didn't change the fact that he, as a rule, disliked meetings. He was sitting cross-legged in his chair, leaning his chin in one hand like he was bored already. Maybe this would be less of a meeting and more of a rallying cry. That could actually be fun.
