The arena, just to the south of the Dangerfield city walls, was not as impressive as the grand hall of the Cathedral, which was normally reserved for town hall meetings. But, hastily decorated and prepared as it was, it still made a fitting place for such an illustrious meeting.
In other words, Titus Dangerfield was satisfied.
The seating itself was U-shaped, with the temporary stage set into the ground in the gap of the U. (The dragon had plenty of room behind the stage to watch, and, Titus supposed, to speak up if it so desired. He rather hoped it did.) And the stage itself had chairs -- for Prince Frederick and Queen Nora.
Titus Dangerfield needed no chair.
He inhaled, strolling along the edge of the stage.
This was good. He could be authoritative. He could ignore all the idiots who didn't know what they were talking about. And he could rally the town in support of the king.
After the battle here, a little over a year ago, the people of the town needed a good rallying.
