Who: Cedric and Sonic (and someone else, but does it count if they're totally unconscious?) What: Cedric's got some unsavory plans. When: Sometime on Friday Where: The "demon cave."
Sonic believed Cedric. Every bit of it. He also understood, in a way. Which was part of what made this so important.
He wasn't going to be the one to make the first move, though. He'd keep talking as long as it kept Cedric distracted.
"I spent my whole life going up against a guy who turned the entire rest of my family into mindless buckets of bolts," he said, speaking quickly and clearly. "And right now, as far as I know, he's sitting in a nice little padded room mumbling gibberish to himself. Completely defenseless. Like that? I wouldn't touch him. It wouldn't be right." He wouldn't mention the fact that he'd been the reason Robotnick had gone completely nutso.
He did stand up straight then. "If you think that makes me different than you- alright, then." Which was more or less an invitation for Cedric to throw the first punch. Sonic hoped it would be a punch, and not another one of those magical blasts.
Cedric shook his head sadly. "That just means you're better than I am. He moved to the side. "Please don't get in the way again. I don't want to hurt you. If you don't care enough to do something yourself, then care enough to not stop me."
Sonic raised an eyebrow. "Better than you? So not the point." And he moved. One hand grabbed onto Cedric's wrist, and one foot hooked around Cedric's ankle. As Cedric fell, Sonic used his hold on the man's wrist to both control the fall somewhat, and get the arm behind Cedric's back in a lock. It all ended with Cedric face down on the floor, his left arm locked, and Sonic's foot on his back. He'd probably be able to throw Sonic off if he tried, but maybe the element of surprise would buy Sonic enough time.
Cedric hit the ground hard, but Sonic didn't weigh much, and Cedric was able to throw him enough to the side to turn his head. "I'm sorry," Cedric said, "but I've been doing this a very long time, too." He let his mind form the wandwork and incantation for a petrifying spell, and Sonic was so close and had no idea it was coming.
The pressure was gone, and Cedric reached out and caught Sonic before he hit the floor. "I know that stings. I'm sorry." He could see Sonic's eyes, still alert, still knowing what was going on. "You tried to stop me. You did everything you could," he said, nodding.
Oki had heard the two in the next chamber and looked in on them to investigate. He hadn't revealled himself though, just in case the blue spiky one could stop the spellcaster. However, when Sonic was immobilized Oki knew he'd have to step in to stop him.
Stepping into the "room" Oki stalked up to Cedric, who wasn't yet standing. "Then maybe I should do everything I can now. I won't allow you to attack him defenseless. If you have a score yo settle, do it while he's awake."
