hereThe wave summoned by Elimyr rushes through the city center, flattening everything in its path. Because of the gap in the city center's walls, it emerges flowing fast as a river, dashing down the city streets in a roaring flood of debris and living people

Water, everywhere, slamming him through the city, closing relentlessly over his head -
he is four years old and he went through a door he shouldn't and he can't breath can't breathcan'tbreathe
Kale sprawls in the grass, choking. He has been battered too many times in the last few weeks. Aching and gasping, Kale slides into unconsciousness.

He's there on the grass, though, when the wave finally slams them into the ground. Choking and obviously in pain, but that means he's alive. Cho's lungs are on fire, and she aches everywhere, but when he stops choking - stops moving completely - she forces her body to work enough to crawl over to him. She gets her hand on his neck, pushing away the collar of his shirt to feel for a pulse, and when she finally finds it, it's steady.
She can't see Niko, can't see Bret, and her head is still pounding like it's about to burst. And that's all she's got - she collapses, taking care not to actually collapse on Kale. When the ground starts shaking she forces herself back up, moving in ( ... )

Hey, Royal's here, and holy shit he's a fucking badass. Jesus, nothing can keep that guy down. Wait... are those gills? That's awesome!
"Dude..." he croaks, and even that small sound hurts his throat, but he crawls to his knees anyway. If he's gonna die while something awesome is happening, he wants to at least see it. Especially if Royal is there.
Fuck it, he's in pain here. He can be honest with himself for a change.
His eyes flick from Royal to the sorcerer, to the girl who called the water, like he's not sure what he wants to look at most. And then the ground starts shaking.
Well, at least he lived an awesome life. Even legen-
He sits there on his knees and waits for it.
Waits for it...
Fuck, he doesn't want to die.

Her movements are fluid, with the water held close around her still. Sounds murmur and distort themselves. Her unblinking eyes finally slip from Mikney to the tree. So much power and force and life and its just amazing.
He drowned. She felt it. Nothing happens in her water that she doesn't know. Maybe he could fight her. Maybe he could win. But not if she can get him first. SHe calls to the water again, forces Mikney to the center of a whirlpool, because she saw the fear. The panic and the terror is what she knows.
It's what comes just before they break.

It's a second to breathe, but the ground is rumbling, and the rain has stopped, and both of those things mean that a magic battle is coming up the likes of which hasn't been seen in this world for thousands of years.
Mikney isn't one of Royal's.
And even if he was, Royal has done all he can to help his odds.
Royal backhands Barney across the face. "Get up!" he shouts.

Instead, he gathers all the forces he has at his disposal. Through him, the wild rush of the wind, the solid rumble of the earth, the burning pain of fire.
He sends it all at her: a cyclone of earth and air and fire, lightning blasting the sky open, tearing the world apart.
