A visible wave of relief washes over Longshadow. "Again, you are correct. I find myself reluctant, however, to jump to conclusions. Before punishment is metted out, her motivations must be uncovered. What would you suggest?"

Xandros pauses in thought for a moment before suggesting, "Her and Ash are close. Perhaps I can ask him a favor to find out what her intentions are? Though the idea of scaring the shit out of her still has it's appeal."

"That seems reasonable," Longshadow says, nodding. "But please--do not endanger any of your own friendships with this. Youhave already been too hurt already."

"That's for certain," Gudge says, nodding in agreement. "When she dropped the roses and note off to me, she seemed pretty happy. But when I asked her to read me the note -- I was at shop class when she showed up, and I was up to my elbows in grease -- she became quite nervous, and I don't think it was because she was in a room full of Nockers."

"Very curious. I wonder..." Longshadow breaks off, shaking his head. "Speculation is useless. Xandros, if you might inquire with Ash sooner rather than later I would be in your debt."

"No problem, I'll see what I can do." Xandros replies with a sly charming grin to Longshadow.

"Dinner perhaps?" He glances back over his shoulder at Gudge, blushing heavily. "I hope you two will become friends. While you may move in different spheres, you are both most..."

He bites his lip.

"Is this as awkward for you as it is for me? I am used to simply fucking."

[gothsatyr]

"Which you do well." The satyr smirks with a charmingly impish grin. "I don't know, I have nothing to compare it against. Though you have to admit having two suitors is quite the romantic notion." Xandros puts the back of his hand against his forehead, swoons dramatically and speaks in a sarcastic yet dramatic tone, "Oh the peril..."

A short bark of laughter escapes Gudge's lips. "I've experienced some of what he's capable of, and I assure you, it made me swoon right the fuck over." He leers at Longshadow, and then continues. "Now, I have some nasty ideas percolating for shit we could pull on Freida. How's this? I show up at her place, all fucked-up looking and distraught, sounding like my world's just been flushed down the shitter, all because of this letter. Run a guilt-trip on her of major league proportions, putting her through the wringer for a while." He looks back and forth between Xandros and Longshadow. "Too much?"

"Only if I pretend to hang myself in the stairwell. I could do it, you know; my kind are quite flexible. And no further comments on my fucking, if you please. I am getting nasty ideas of my own."

The smallest of smiles blooms at the corner's of Longshadow's mouth. "But such plans are premature. Let Xandros figure out her motives first. Then I shall concede. Something is in order, but we must not harm her. Should she indeed be prejudiced against my kind, it would only reinforce the stereotype."
