"No. I'm not going to be alright." Not for a while at least. "Not for a while." Truthfully, Squall didn't think he'd ever be 'alright', at least completely. He had issues he still needed to work his way through and Hyne only knew if he'll ever get completely over them. As it was now ( ... )

Firion accepted that answer, he figured that was what it would be, but he still wanted to know regardless. However, he grew hopeful when Squall asked if he really did want him to join. Firion nodded. "I do," He said, stopping as well. "It would be nice, I suppose. I never got to travel with you during the Conflict. We all had our groups, I suppose."

He smiled slightly and nodded again. "You do have a choice. I would like you to join me, but I am only asking. I won't hold it against you should you choose not to."

Firion just hoped to keep contact if Squall did choose to go on his own again.

"I'll think about it." The only people he traveled with so far were his friends from his world and Zidane and Bartz during the Conflict. His time with Cecil as they traversed through Route 29 was time spent more on Squall dwelling on what he should do with the then catatonic paladin while fighting off bad memories from his own world.

Right now, they were travelling to the same towns and places. It might be a good idea to spend time with others--instead of relying on just himself--but then again, the more time they spent with him. The more likely they'll find out how fucked up he was. There was a damn good reason why he didn't want Zidane and Bartz with him while he was searching for his crystal but--

After what happened with the Fog, Firion and the others had seen him at his relatively worst.

Squall sighed, shaking his head. "I'll think about it. But." He paused, glancing at Firion's bare neck for a moment. "I'm not promising anything."

Squall, Firion, Aerith, and Cecil thisdesertrose October 5 2010, 03:09:37 UTC
They were halfway down Route 31 when they finally caught sight of Cecil and Aerith. Firion was surprised that Aerith was there, but considering she also had been looking for Squall, he shouldn't have been too surprised. He raised his hand in a wave.

Aerith was following Cecil around the entire time while letting her pokemon help in the search for Squall. Heartless has been behaving and helping in the search for Squall which she found a little strange the ghost pokemon was being cooperative. The three pokemon were following behind Aerith - Chansey, Ledyba, and Heartless. The pokemon were making sure their trainer doesn't pass out because she hasn't been sleeping for days. Instead she's been training and searching for Squall at every inch of each route ( ... )

Cecil was starting to know every inch of the route by heart. It felt like he had seen that particular tree a thousand times before, and that funny-looking rock was starting to appear in his dreams. Rosie the Cleffa, Avenger the Suppet and Esuna the Caterpie were all looking tired, and he knew they'd have to visit a Pokémon Center soon enough.

Therefore, it was with happiness that he registered Firion's wave. He waved back with all the energy he could muster, looking all around the young man. And there Squall was, looking paler and thinner than he had a week before.

Cecil watched them approach, his feelings a mixture of anger and relief. Squall had abandoned them, abandoned even his Pokémon, running off who knew where with no way of reaching him in case of emergency. But Squall was safe, and he'd been found in a mere week -- it could have been years -- and even after he'd been found he had not run off again ( ... )

Squall walked a bit of distance away from Firion, his pack slung over his left shoulder. The hidden lacerations on his arms throbbed with pain but he kept his expression neutral. If there was any trace of what he was feeling, it was how his body still shook and quivered (although it was much less noticeable compared to the last time he'd seen Cecil--after Firion collapsed and fell on top of him the night he caught his ghosts).

When he and Firion left, it was nightfall already, just after sunset maybe. A fact that Squall was grateful for, having spent who knows how many days and night in the cave--in constant darkness.

The SeeD came to a stop, standing a few feet away from Cecil and Aerith. His back straightened but he didn't say or do anything. He just watched them for a moment, unsure what to say to them. Don't even know... if I should say anything now or until head back to Cherrygrove.

Squall, Firion, Aerith, Cecil, and Light thisdesertrose October 5 2010, 03:10:12 UTC
Soon, they were finally entering Cherrygrove City. They all needed some rest and hopefully, this would be the end of their emotional struggles for the time being. Well, as much of an end as they could have.

The Warrior of Light was waiting for all of them at the edge of Cherrygrove City, standing in a manner that was strangely casual without his armor. When he saw them approaching, he raised an arm in greeting toward them.

Aerith was following the group around like a kid following after a group of friends. She didn't know who Warrior of Light was, but he was in charge of taking care of Squall's pokemon there. Aerith wanted to check on Cyndaquil before lecturning Squall.

Seeing a man waving towards them, she glanced at the group and asked, "Is that him? The one who was looking at Cyndaquil and Gyradoes?"

"That is indeed him," replied Cecil, looking toward the waving man. He waved back. "Hello, Light! We're all back, and none of us are missing limbs!"

Well, that part might have been obvious. But they were all mostly fine, and that seemed like something Light would want to know.
