Dominic is indeed asleep, for once, and while normally a light sleeper working ten day weeks on two jobs leaves a guy a little exhausted. It's not until four that he wakes up- and only because his alarm has been set for just that purpose. His shift starts at six, so he takes a shower, gets dressed, wakes up and feeds his pokémon, and goes- as always- to check on Anemone before thinking about breakfast.

Anemone is not in her room.

That took a moment to sink in. Anemone was gone. And it appeared that most of her things remained- had she been abducted? Harmed in some way? Was she hiding in the bathroom, or in some other corner of the inn? Dominic tried to search in a methodical way, but didn't do a great job of it: she was missing. Anemone was gone. She most certainly would leave without telling him first. After all, impulse decisions were always better when your caretaker couldn't protest. Except this boredom half makes her wish she woke him up. Boredom, especially when waiting and not doing anything, is just as bad as Dominic telling her no.

Anemone's begun poking holes in the sand at this point, when she hears him call her name. She looks up and waves sandy fingers in his direction. Should she run over or wait for him? Part of her thinks waiting's not so bad, but it's also waiting and she's growing tired of it, so she just pulls herself to her feet and walks over, ignoring the sand clinging to her skin.

"Dominic, there are crabs out here!" she tells him with a wide smile. "Well, it went away now, but there was a really big one!" Aren't you proud, Dominic?

Well, rather than proud, he's out of breath, relieved, kind of worried anyway, kind of annoyed, and relieved again. And he's also just now realizing he is barefoot. After a moment, he marches towards her. "What do you think you're doing, taking off without saying a word?"

No matter how angry he might be, she really sees nothing wrong with what she's done. But at his lack of a smile, her own one falters, and she starts wiping her hands onto the sides of her nightgown.

"You were sleeping. I didn't want to wake you since you probably needed it."
