Personal Slash Reading History

Aug 17, 2008 13:04

This morning I felt in the mood to recall my slash reading history - which authors I read at which stage and what an effect the stories had on me.  I wrote it down like it came to my mind - will not have it beta-ed, since it's just a personal entry - and now I think I like to post it, even though I'm not quite ready with it (but need a break). So, ( Read more... )

What a great post...all those writers...all those wonderful Vig/Bean memories you've awakened in me. I must go and rediscover some of those great stories and writers.

hugs, Lyn

And one of the first writers I read was you ... I'm staring to notice that most 'names' I connect with my fandom are already gone in my fandom ...

I had to sit and nod at almost all of that. Wonderful listing of fantastic writers and work.

Thanks for the info, I fixed that - sorry I didn't come back to the comments earlier, but I was pleased that many LJ friends liked to be reminded of these stories :)

*G* savageseraph and I have been around since pretty much the beginning of VigBean (and LotR FPF and RPF) on LJ, and the mailing lists before then, but for some reason, we're always quietly tucked away somewhere when new people come to the fandom, and never discovered right away.

Of course, I suspect that you also came to VigBean around the same time that both Barb and I were (independently of each other) enmeshed in a couple rather bad years; neither of us are as prolific as some other authors, and when you throw in real life hardships, something has to suffer, and it's always, always fandom, because it's the one thing you can afford to let slide.

I can't say things are "better" now, but for me, at least, there's a little more time for more writing, which is a good thing.

I quite enjoyed reading this history. It's a great idea, and fascinating to read. It'd be neat to see other people do this as well, actually.

Oh, that's fantastic to hear! (Sorry, I've been away myself, and haven't kept up to date very well in the interim.) Well, I do know that I only signed up for one, so one is absolutely, perfectly fine with me, but if you're looking to get rid of an excess copy or something, I won't say no to two. ^_~ It's not a problem if one is easiest/best, though. I'm just going to be happy to have at least one copy in my hands. *G* Thanks so much! *hugs*
