I have a feeling that random old bloke is the subject of many 'stunner' compliments *grin*. When I did a google search for a suitable subject - his was once of the first pics to pop up.
Uh huh. Potential. Nowt to do with being nice at all then *grin*?
He just seems to know what your problems are and makes suggestions for you to work on. Yoda Art Teacher *giggles*.
I stuck the link in my reply to mon_ami_runa's comment to the original pic of the kitty for icon-making. Twould be much easier for icon-making *nods*. And as some of us no longer have any graphics software...
Thanks lovey - but I too no longer have all the software gubbins to make icons. They went west when my computer got a virus and I took a load of stuff off it.
Question - when you start a picture, do you start it with a graphite pencil, or do you have a very fine pastel pencil?
*sighs* I really should buy some software. Or download it. Or something *adds to list of fifty million things to do*.
I used to use a graphite pencil (the Harry Potter days lol) but now I use a pastel pencil in a shade that matches the overall picture to sketch out the initial picture roughly. I read somewhere that with pastel you should either use charcoal or pastel pencils to do the initial drawing because you can then blend them in - whereas the graphite doesn't blend and your see a line (is you enlarge the Harry Potter pastel you can see what I mean). Seems to work for me - don't know how others do it.

You were right to try the door in pastels - it really works.
And yes, you have improved! In our defence, we could see your potential as well as what you'd already achieved!!

Naughty, pesky, silly, nosy... yes - all of those - but still not sure about 'nice' as an adjective!!

I love your pastels uber lots. They're all awesome but am particularly fond of the doorway - looks kinda mystical.

The doorway is fantastic - the view really draws you in.
And I second mon_ami_runa's opinion that kitty wizard is an icon - that is a gorgeous pastel!
I think your art teacher sounds like a gem! Go him, because he is obviously drawing out your talent. The progress you are making is stunning :)
