Let me tell you all something that'll probably sound fairly dumb. I was sitting on our front porch this evening with various other members of the family distributing the box of candy, messing around on the guitar very quietly so that (optimally) no one could hear me, with my face all painted up with red and white to look halloweenish. For how long have you been playing the guitar?

I think part of me knew you played, but a greater part forgot.

...and I like your story

either three years or three months- take your pick. Explanation below. Either way, I can knock out Freight Train on fingerpicking and I know about 12 chords in the dark.

nice.

Do you practice in the dark?

Hey, that's a good idea. I should start turning off the lights in the practice rooms. Then, if there's a power failure during my recital, I'll be fine!

Better yet, I should tell my friends to randomly come turn off the lights while I'm practicing...

That's not dumb, you made a little girl very happy by playing a song for her.

I'm with Marissa, how long have you been playing the guitar?

If you count the time I've been actively playing, probably about three months, but I first picked up a guitar when I was eight. I learned one chord and then forgot it. Then on christmas break three years ago I started learning for real, but I only had a week of playing before I went back to school. Then the next summer I took a lesson once a week for maybe 8 weeks. Other than that I really haven't practised at all- there was always school work, and most of the time the guitar was at home anyway (it's my dad's from when he was in college.)

Wow, I had no idea. That's so cool that you stuck with it though.
