Day: 7 Characters: Jecht blitzballin & OPEN! Summary: Swimming lesson bonanza! Status: Open (tag yourselves in, posting order is loose. Tag anywhere and everywhere! :D)
In spite of the sun drawing near the horizon, Rin was plenty warm enough as she made her way to the pool, feeling slightly awkward in her simple bathing suit. Not that she was afraid so much of showing legs or arms, but it was a little more revealing than she was used to, and there were a lot of men around...
Still, she figured she'd be fine. And she needed something to get her out of her funk, and being located right next to the ocean as they were, swimming wouldn't be a bad skill to pick up. It was with this in mind that she made her way to the pool.
Once there, it wasn't hard to pick out Jecht - he was the only person there, sitting next to the water kicking his feet like a little boy. Rin forced a smile onto her face and called to him uncertainly. "Jecht...?"
Jecht was feeling pretty relaxed right now. It really had been too long since he'd been able to feel the water against his skin or the warm tropical breeze. This was definitely his kind of location, if only it wasn't for the clinic towering over the island, but even for a little bit, that could be forgotten. He couldn't help but think that his kid would have liked this kind of place though, or what he would think if he found out that his old man was about to give swim lessons to some kids.
"He'd probably cry," He muttered to himself, laughing a little, though he knew that wasn't the case anymore. It might not have been very long, but he'd finally gotten to see the runt once again, and see how strong he had become.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of someone walking over to the pool. Looking up and seeing the girl, he stood up, nodding and waving her over as she called to him.
"Hey there, Rin." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck. "You ready to get started?"
Jecht was a rough-looking man, although he sounded friendly. Rin stopped out of arm's reach, watching him, her smile feeling marginally less forced. She hadn't heard him before Rosenhan; she wondered if she remembered St. Edelweiss. She wished Cross was here. Still... it would be better to try reaching out again, right...?
She was kind of tired of it, really. Sick of losing people again and again. Doa, Sokaro, Manji... Allen, Lavi, Cross... who knew how long anyone else would last. Who knew how long this man would be around, how much pain she'd end up experiencing if he too disappeared - or died.
Rin glanced away from him a bit, looking at the specks of sky through the forest. Leaves moved and rustled in the warm breeze. It wouldn't be too hard just to go and roam...
Jecht had remembered this girl's voice from the other place, had recalled many voices from there really. At the time, he had spoken up maybe once or twice, but when it came down to it, he didn't really have anything to yell about or boast there. He had found his son once again, and as awkward as it had been, he'd gotten to see that Tidus had really grown up, had been strong, and Hell, he even was able to see eye to eye with Jecht for once, even if they still fought

Quatre walked into the pool area, just a little more slowly than his usual stride. While the worst of the flu was far behind him, he still had enough sniffles that he was going to forego the swimming lessons. He at least knew the basics, so he would be safe if he ever found himself on the beach near the water.
Quatre had another reason for coming: he wanted to see his friends. He'd already seen Trowa, and of course he knew his roommate was okay, but he wanted to put faces to names, and he felt this would be a good way.
He noticed the two figures near and in the pool, and he nodded and gave a polite smile to them both as he approached.
Jecht was laughing as he tossed Rin into the pool. Certainly, nothing bad would happen to the girl, he'd jump in and help her when she really needed it, but he couldn't deny that it was damn funny to see her floundering like that.
He was a bit relieved that people were coming out now. It would have been damn embarrassing if the great Jecht made an announcement like that and nobody showed up.
"Hey kid," He waved over to Quatre. "You here for lessons too?"
Quatre gasped audibly as he saw the man throwing the young lady into the pool with little warning. "Um, well..." he started, voice softened in surprise at the sudden action. He did notice that the man, though he was laughing at the poor woman's plight, kept an eye on the new swimmer at the same time.
"I know how to swim, basically," Quatre explained. "I can tread water and stay submerged for a short time, but I'm not a master of swimming by any means."
It was easy for Yuna to slip into the swimsuit the hospital had provided for her, easy to fold her Summoner dress and tuck it away, brush her hair, wash her face... It wasn't quite so easy, though, to leave her room for the first time in days, since...well, since Jecht had called her aside to speak to her about Tidus

Jecht was feeling better than usual, and he looked over his shoulder when he heard someone calling out to him, greeted by a familiar face. Even though he had seen her recently, he couldn't believe that Yuna really had grown up. After all, when he had last seen Yuna, before this place, she was still just a little girl, but now... She had really grown up.
Yuna definitely seemed to be handling things well too, she looked... Happy, at least. Though, he figured that she was probably only smiling to hide the pain, after all she was closer to the kid than he was, and even he was still feeling down.
He waved over to her and offered a smile. It was just like old times, knowing that she would be watching him again. It almost reminded him of home...
The smile was what really did it; all of a sudden Yuna felt lighter than she had in days, the horrible weight pinning her heart to the ground lifting at last. She walked over to where Jecht was sitting, seating herself at the edge of the pool, her fit slipping into the cool water.
It felt nice. Sitting here with him...it was almost as if she was a little girl again, and he was about to show her one of his new Blitzball techniques. She was older now, though, and so much had happened since Jecht had disappeared from Spira, only to reappear in this place, wherever it was. Somehow, she didn't think it was the same sort of twist in fate that brought them here... Sin wasn't here, after all, and she was still trying to wrap her mind around the concept of a world without its constant threat.
It wouldn't do to think about it too much, though, not now. Not when they finally had a chance to really enjoy themselves. Giggling, she pushed herself off the edge and into the water, splashing about a little.

He really didn't want to swim.
Frankly, as far as Jack was concerned, there was no need for him to learn, either. He'd wade out with Pirate as often as she wanted, and that was fine, but he wasn't an ocean boy. The ocean-- cold, rough, salty, potentially dangerous-- held no real appeal to him. He didn't want to know how to swim

"Sure," she said softly, instead. "I'm ready."

“It's so cold!” she exclaimed.
