I'm really enjoying this. I have to admit, I don't usually like stories that revolve around Sirius' fragmented memories -- since in canon we get no indication that he has any such issues. But this is so well-written that it almost sells me on the idea. Or maybe I'm finally learning to say "Screw canon! This is more nuanced and interesting then what JKR gave us anyway."

Looking forward to the rest of it...

Eeks. I was unintentionally anonymous up there. Also, of course, I meant "more interesting than..." Not "then." How embarrassing.

I give up...

Hmm. I tend to extrapolate it from the end of PoA, when Sirius says he stayed sane because a) he knew he was innocent and the Dementors couldn't take that away because it wasn't a happy thought, and b) because he changed into a dog and so his thoughts became less complex. I tend to read that as implying he probably did lose some of the happy memories, or at least suppress them too thoroughly for the Dementors to find them.

Glad you're enjoying it, anyway. It's always interesting to see how people read canon differently, and I'm glad you can still enjoy this.

It's so, so good to have you back. :D

I'm loving these! And I liked very, very much the You could tell me what it is you keep waiting for me to remember passage. Because, honestly? It makes sense that Sirius would notice.

This was a really good story. I would have never thought a marrow so troublesome.

Remus looked up, smiling tiredly. “I really don’t know. You were both very drunk. You took Lily a cauliflower, once I’d untangled you from the sheets.”

That is an awesome line :).
