So today was a Good Day. First, I received a letter this morning notifying me that I won another scholarship for high GPAness :D And then I got a call from my department head asking me to come see her, so I popped in that afternoon. She offered me a job I took on the spot- a two-year paid internship at the interdepartmental, internationally ( Read more... )

I've read very little Derrida- I joke that most of what I know about philosophers I've learned from Monty Python... So I'm definitely going to have to read more. I'm the department of religion, and I specialize in Eastern religions, primarily Hinduism and Buddhism. Lots o' fun :D

Damn! I wish I would have known about Monty Python when I was doing my first degree (Rhetoric/Critical Social Theory)...
If you're going to read any Derrida, I highly recommend bit of Austin first. Derrida and Searl have a spectacular debate going on about him - its almost like watching a kung fu master movie :)
