Decisions, decisions

So today was a Good Day. First, I received a letter this morning notifying me that I won another scholarship for high GPAness :D And then I got a call from my department head asking me to come see her, so I popped in that afternoon. She offered me a job I took on the spot- a two-year paid internship at the interdepartmental, internationally received and prestigious journal she's the editor-in-chief of. I'll be proofreading and other good stuff, and they're also organizing a conference on Derrida for fall 2006 and I get to be the main go-to student about it. It's an amazing opportunity- learning how to apply for grants, contacting all kinds of people all over the world, setting stuff up... I'm SO hyped about this!

Then my department head said that she doesn't usually hire undergrads for either that position or the grader/marker position, and in the case of the g/m thing, she's a bit worried that there will be rumblings from other undergrads/graduate students who didn't get hired. And there's the time issue- Working at the journal, at my store, going to full time 4th year honours classes, running the religion student group, and trying to see friends/family/the gentleman caller/the HP fandom upon occasion ;) She told me to really think about the g/m thing- if I don't want to do it, no hard feelings. It's an easy position to fill. Apparently it's fairly time consuming, especially around the time my own stuff will be due. I don't know. I thrive under pressure but I don't want to take on too much in my final undergrad year. So I shall be pondering this.

But still. SQUEE! So many great opportunities! I'm so ready to go back to classes next week :D

Then I rented Sin City with the gentleman caller. LOVED it. I've got to see it again- I think it'll be one of those ones you get more out of the more times you see it. Actually, I'd really like to pick up the graphic novel to compare.
