I was writing a musing for the tribute blog yesterday that got me thinking about how I love understated humor. Understated humor can be so hilarious if done right, but it's very difficult to do. I think that's why I find writing humor fics so difficult--I try to go for the understated humor rather than cracky humor, and it is a bit of a challenge ( Read more... )

At least you have plunnies. And I can always reread Tansaal and Traum, if I can't wait. Might be good to do that anyway, see what I missed the first time around.

Oh and I will get your Monk Shot started, I think a plunny just started snuggling with me for that.

Titles can be really fun sometimes, but then, if the plot changes, they don't make much sense. For example, my original plot for "The Secret Organization of the Angels" was supposed to be WAY different from what I published. I was going to have Hogan go, with Newkirk and Carter, and see the organization first-hand. Chapter 6, my dream chapter, was supposed to be real, and with Hogan's changing coming in the middle of the story, not the ending.

Also, I thought I should give you a fair warning now. You know that planned LeBeau/Newkirk closeness that I told you about for "Tricks of Power?" I think my muse and I have butted heads enough, but now we've come to an agreement that it's best to just take down the story. If you want, I could write the planned chapter and just send it your way.

Well, my plot won't change; my outline is done before I ever start writing, so I know the title will always fit.
