Over at Academichic it's "Dress Your Best" week. Not dress in your best outfit--dress to flatter your best features (and stop dressing to de-emphasize the features you don't like). Here's my mini version of that. I decided to show off my nice waistline (and stop worrying about my hips).

this was a revelatory experience )

Yeah, having worn it all day, I'm now wondering why I don't own more items in that shade of purple or with that particular shape. :)

The shirt is awesome, but I'm in love with the sandals!

Yeah, I hardly ever find shoes that work for me at the thrift store, so they were like striking gold!

And I love the sandals AND the shirt, so it seems to be a big hit all around. :)

(Also this makes me want to shop and actually, I don't know, take time to put things together. Bah. :p)

Wow! You look great! The purple looks good on you and in the class one you look really happy. :-)

And dry erase boards! I feel so old to remember chalk!

Thanks, DB! I was giggling when the student snapped the pic, so that definitely adds to the merriment of the photo.

The main reason I stopped shopping in the junior section is because I'd wear a large in those sizes, but small in women's. Size tags have a large influence on me. Apparently.

Yeah, I do wear different sizes in the two store sections as well. The main thing is that the designs in the junior dept. are meant for teens, so they don't take fully-adult hips and so forth into account.
