The Ring was scary. After a while I couldn't look at the girl with the hair and no face. Or covering her face. I don't know because I stopped looking. :-/
Don't just play random VHSs! I'm sure DVDs are okay, though.
Ack, the Ring! I could not handle the face distortions because it's just one of those things that never stops terrifying me. *shivers* Blink was just really, really well done and I'm absurdly grateful that all the montage statues are at least an ocean away. :)
We went for vaguely appropriate instead of actually scary and ended up watching Labyrinth for the pre-Halloween movie. Heh.
Distorted faces just *are* creepy. For me, it's the mouths especially. Like in the third Spider-Man movie, when whatisface turns into Venom and they do a CGI large gaping jaw on his face. Freaks me out every time.
Oooh, Labyrinth! I own that, maybe I'll pop that in the DVD player. (My younger self was quite impressed by David Bowie way back when. Hah!)
