I'm so intrigued! And yet also full of trepidation! And have possibly been actively avoiding ficathons that land me with specific assignments and people who will be disappointed if I don't post on time. And yet...so intrigued!!!

I've only done one other remix ficathon. It was actually quite enjoyable--I felt like I was able to do something interesting and different with the story I wrote, and the story I had mixed had a POV change which really worked well.

And have possibly been actively avoiding ficathons that land me with specific assignments and people who will be disappointed if I don't post on time.

Not that lls_mutant and I want to encourage defaulting, but we aren't saying anything like, "If you default you can NEVER TRY THIS AGAIN here." (Some bigger ficathons do have that rule.)

Speaking of that, BSG fandom is pretty low-key in general, I think. If you decide to give it a try, this is a great place to be a debutante. :)

I found it easier in some ways to remix than to write my own new fic, because a structure was already there. I did all kinds of changes to it, but the idea was already in place. As long as I know my ending point, I write a lot faster.

I'm preparing myself for potential embarrassment à la Twilight... readying myself for people to say, "That's her naked id!"

On top of that, to make it through the bleak, awful and depressing bits, I'm making up a shmoopy sequel in my head.
