A rare bird, in more ways than one.

At the beginning of this month, a rare endangered California condor hatched out at the San Diego Safari Park. The as yet unnamed seventeen-day-old chick is the twentieth child of father Sisquoc and mother Shatash.

Enjoy :) Sisquoc spent a lot of time crouching protectively over the chick. His back was to the camera (of course) and the chick was hidden, but from the movement I think he was preening it.
