TITLE:  What is That Thing?
CHARACTERS:  Ironhide
REALM:  Bayverse
RATING:  K - Appropriate for all ages.
GENRE/WARNING:  General and none
SUMMARY:  Humans are strange - they give gifts for no apparent reason.

Ironhide knew he'd grown accustomed to humans walking about.  He just didn't grasp how adjusted he'd become.

Recharge cycle complete, he onlined his optics, scanned his room, stopped when he spotted an addition.  The old weapons mech stared at the brightly wrapped package laying at the foot of his recharge berth.  Had too have been from the humans - it was too small for even Jolt or Bumblebee to wrap.  (Plus, a mech would have left it on the berth, not on the floor).

No mech could enter occupied private quarters without the mech inside being aware.  Obviously humans could.  Ironhid vowed to recalibrate his sensors.  It was one thing to be aware and pretend ignorance of the humans underfoot, it was another thing to be oblivious of their presence.  Insufficient to simply adjust sensitivity to electrical fields - the humans didn't have one he could detect, though both Ratchet and Jolt thought the humans did have naturally occurring electrical fields.

Percieving nothing harmful in the package, Ironhide opened it up.  Readjusted his optics when he noticed what was inside.  He was tempted to blow up the gift simply because of the color.  Ironhide instead placed it in the leg cache that held Annabell's toys.  No other human dared give the mechs such odd gifts - it was thoughtful of her, but "a pink bunny?"  Ironhide groused.  "Why couldn't Will's daughter have chosen a different color?  Like black or red?"
