Sorry for being so ambiguous about the last post. I had a feeling that's what it was, actually! Crazy E.S.P.!!!

I can picture a prof who might do that, although it distresses me to think he/she would. I am assuming this prof is in the English department? Shame on him/her - I am not at all surprised, and I am thrilled that you have the opportunity to bring your gifts to another country to share. You are going to be phenomenal at this!!!

P.S. How does this work with the IU plan? Do you get to take a leave of absence from there, or defer enrollment for a time? Or what?

I'm going to IU for the fall (since it starts in March), hopefully staying in the area and working somewhere for January/February, then deferring a year. They are not promising me I'll have funding when I get back (I had an offer to have this year funded), but I guess I'll have to take that risk!
