Addendum to previous post
Sorry for being so ambiguous about the last post. I wasn't really sure what was going on before, and there were several unexpected conflicts with my big (good) news...but here we go.I'm also not sure that a blog post is the best way to do this, but I have been unable to get ahold of many of you :-)
I got a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant, which means I'm going to Chile from March-December of 2008 to teach English/work in the Writing Center in a still-to-be-determined Chilean university, and will be working on some other project with this university, a combination of taking classes, researching, and or community involvement. Oh, and that the U.S. government pays for this.
I honestly cannot believe I'm writing these words, or that this is really going to happen. One professor who will remained unnamed, upon hearing the news went *eyebrows raise above glasses* " A Fulbright? You? Well, congrats."
This is kinda the reaction I'm having...a Fulbright?? ME??? More news, undoubtedly more than you want, to be coming as I get it.
