I just took a breath so deep that I inhaled the drawstring on my hoodie and choked on it. I wish there had been witnesses; it was amazing.

This might actually be the best thing I've read all day.

Also, a friend of mine recently got into Sherlock, and her first fannish act was to post a rec of "The Anatomist." I just thought you should know that.

That icon is adorable. *steals*

My response to her post was something along the lines of, "Damn, now I can't rec that to you." I mean, I recced eight million other things instead, there's no shortage of good stuff in this fandom, but still, it's so well-suited to her tastes. And to mine, I don't think I ever mentioned how much I loved it. I read it months ago and it stuck in my head, then I encountered it again recently and realized that hi, the author was on my flist. (And still didn't comment, because I am the worst ever at commenting, sorry about that.) It's hard to write even the most minimal Jim-Molly interaction without thinking of it.

Gosh, having fun is stressful.

I feel like this is the motto of all fanfic writing.

Your 2012 goals fill me with glee, because you are amazing. No, sorry: AMAZING. Please don't die prematurely by choking on your hoodie drawstring. (Or any other method, but especially that one.)

WORD.

Please don't die prematurely by choking on your hoodie drawstring.

I'll do my best, but look at it this way - if I do choke to death on my hoodie drawstring, then you'll be able to tell people that you know someone who freakin' choked to death on a hoodie drawstring. And that would be awesome.

For you, anyway. ;)

Oh my god your mood theme. FLYNN.

Ahem. I'm really so very excited about Arcana, it's a bit silly. And The Anatomist is still one of the first things I recommend when someone new wants Sherlock fics to read, because it's amazing. No, sorry: AMAZING.

FLYNN.

EUUUUGENE.

No, but really. That movie is my happy place.

The Anatomist is still one of the first things I recommend when someone new wants Sherlock fics to read

D'aww, thank you! I've been going through a big Sherlock fic reread to gear up for the 1st, and I spent about half the day rereading your fics while flapping my hands in front of my computer screen and saying things like SO FANTASTIC WHY HOW WHY. Because they are just that good.

Speaking of: I'm sure people bug you all the time for the next part of Thy Mother's Glass, and don't get me wrong, I will squeal like a joyful banshee when I see that on my flist, but I did want to say that is a beautiful piece of work just as it is. For the record.

I love that movie so very, very much. The BFI are screening it in February and my mother has been informed that we're going. No choice!

I actually just rec'd The Anatomist to my sister because she wanted more Molly fic and somehow hadn't read it. Also to hear that you've been re-reading my stuff makes me flail in the extreme because The Anatomist is basically the standard I set myself for everything. TEARS OF JOY.

Re: Thy Mother's Glass - thank you so much, that is actually a really lovely thing to hear. I think part of what made me change it from a WIP into a standalone in need of a sequel (because yeah, I did that) was that it felt very contained as it was, and part of the trouble I had with Part II was that it didn't feel like it was part of the same story. Which I guess is kind of like what happened with the "last part" of The Anatomist? But thank you, really, I am smiling like a mad thing :)

SO MANY THINGS IN THIS POST THAT ARE MAKING ME HAPPY RIGHT NOW

Not the least of which is that you still even have that Wizard of Oz thing on your radar omg. AND TOMORROW IS A LONG TIME. THAT NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN BEAUTY. IT WILL BE PUT ON MY TOMBSTONE MY PRIDE AT HAVING A HAND IN INSPIRING THIS FIC, ROSE, I HOPE YOU ARE AWARE.

and okay so here's the deal. just write like. a ficlet. the ficletist of ficlets, taking place some time after but broken lights so that all that unbearably sexual tension filled doctor hands splayed over and around rose and her stomach under the guise of spreading healing lotion stuff on her can be SOMEWHAT RESOLVED before someone injures themselves. and by someone i mean me ( ... )
