the morning after

After reading about a few of my friends' Thanksgiving meals that turned into bad movie material. as the family got together and pushed buttons and annoyed each other, it made me realize just how thankful I was for my relaxed, sweet, uncomplicated Thanksgiving.

the yummy details )

Heehee. i feel all loved now.
Words cannout describe how happy i am to be here this week, and not with dad and my psycho grandmother. She read me the riot act yesterday about being here (apparently, Father Dear "forgot" to tell her i was gonna be in RI.
She kept saying "why aren't you here? why don't you leave and come here?" i kept telling her that I was severarl states away. And even if i wanted to, there is absolutely no possible way for me to find a train ticket to leave before sunday. she even asked if i was going to see mom for thanksgiving. Um... that'd be rather difficult considering she is in nj at the moment.
Look at this... i'm turning this into my own little journal entry. I'm gonna shut up now.
Love you big brother!
*hugs*

The thing about my family is that, thanks to adoption (and subsequent reunion) and divorce all over the place, not to mention the widespread nature of my family and my financial status (as well as theirs), there are many family members who cannot be seen together, and besides there is no centralized location that would cover everyone. So I get to be selective about who I spend my holidays with.

I currently have family in NJ, SC, TX, CA, WY, CO, NY... man, the list seems pretty endless.

It sucks when you want to see everyone, or when you feel obligated to see them because you haven't seen them in $timeperiod. But it's nice when there are only certain members you want to see, or when there is overlap between (want to see them) and (geographically accessible). Like this year. Woot!

I guess the first year that I stopped playing that "have to see EVERYone" game was 24.

Yeay to Family Goodness!!! It is so cool that your sister is accepting of your lifestyle, too! ROCK ON to open minded relatives.. (all too rare, IMHO).
