Hero Shep.... *happy sigh* Going on and being strong even when he's hurt. I just have a soft spot for that.

Great story! I love the twist with the lizard off world and the snow/avalanche/weather. Loved the idea of the snow shelter too, very realistic and fitting.

I love how the team bonded again after starting to drift apart some from circumstance.

Great story for my prompt, thank you! :D

Thanks, glad you enjoyed and found it realistic. I may have *cough* taped a dozen eps of Bear Grylls'Born Survivor programmes and made a few notes....What? it's research!

Okay, you had me with John surfing :D It was nice to go from the sun and ocean to the chilly snow. This team has gone through so much and I could imagine the desire to have a team mission out where they could bond again. Loved the survival in the snow storm and the team getting snow blindness was a nice realistic touch.

:D

Yes, surfing...hmmmm I know nothing about surfing and am unlikely to ever actually go and do it either but it was fun to write. I have a surfing whump story in mind in the future. Glad you enjoyed the fic and all the snow and stuff. Google and Bear Grylls were my friends for this story...

Enjoyed the way you started the fic, with Shep having some down time then winding into the whump!

Liked the team love as they helped each other through the snow, and heroic John playing his part to keep his team safe, even though very sick himself.

Thanks for a great story.

Excellent :D I loved all the little details about how to survive in the snow - the snow cave, snow blindness, the make-shift sunglasses. Hee, I could totally see the team in sunglasses all gathered around Sheppard's bed. Blues Brothers indeed ;)

WEll John's an outdoorsy kind of guy and both he and Rodney have been stationed unwillingly in sub zero continents- figured they must have picked a few things up. Actually I've never seen the blues Brothers film...but i know they wear glasses!
