I've taken a break from pretending to revise for Law to say lskfgjlkfg. Shisui is so awesome and his narrative voice is fabulous. Also, NARUTO (♥♥♥) I cannot wait to see what's happening with the clan. I haven't kept up with the manga in actual years, so everything is new and shiny for me :>

The last time I wanted to write fic about these characters (not Naruto characters, Shisui and Itachi) was something like February 2007, and soon after I lost interest in the series altogether, so... yeah. And yet, here I am. What is is fuckery?
Thanks for taking the time (that could have been better employed) to read and comment. There are literally like three people reading this including myself, and that makes me chortle because of all the times I whined that only three people were reading Canadian Girlfriend Fic.
AND YES, NARUTO IS THERE. I was seriously thinking, did I make him too subtle? Did no one notice the main character of the series made a cameo?

God, I love Shisui in this. He's all tough on the outside, but I can tell that he's a total sweetheart inside. ♥

But really, are you seriously going to subject yourself to this torture? D: If so, I could... give you a basic outline of what the stuff behind the scene is supposed to be about. It's all very mindfucky and convoluted, and I would NEVER suggest that you try reading the manga just for the sake of humoring me.

The sad thing is that I actually read the manga, but I still don't understand what's going on. I know - failll. I would definitely appreciate a basic outline of the story. :)

- Shisui's dad died. He developed his mind-control eye thing (that Danzou eventually steals) and started going on a lot of missions abroad. I'm trying to address the fact that in canon, he gained the reputation as a mind-controller even among shinobi from other villages.
- At some point during all this, Itachi became a triple-agent: helping Konoha (Danzou and the Hokage) spy on the Uchiha Clan spy on Konoha. Yeah, idk either. Itachi, being a spy for Konoha, is obviously not doing his best at his other job - being a spy for the Uchiha. They're pissed at him about this.
- Shisui (in this story) doesn't know about the secret war or Itachi's situation.
- Itachi is in contact with Krazy Maddy Madara. Eventually, he will learn about Mangenkyou Sharingan. And then he will kill Shisui :(That is what the story is like in relation to canonical events. The story itself will... unfold in its own way. But like I said ( ... )

Also, I was incredibly tense for the whole dinner scene; I kept thinking Yuu was going to get his hand clamped down on the yakiniku grill or something. Anyway I'm glad it didn't happen, but it's def. going to show up somewhere like in the next itachi-centric fic.

OUCH. Ouchouchouch. Obviously I cannot handle this vivid, Tarantino-style violence that you excel at, so feel free to include that in your next Itachi-centric fic. Or any fic at all. Maybe Kisame can come along...?

LOL. no no I harbor only the usual amount of animosity toward Sasuke, what I meant was more of the uh irony/foreshadowing of Shisui telling Sasuke not to commit suicide by drowning, there were a lot of details in this vein sort of scattered about. And they were awesome, that is what I meant.
I briefly considered trying to draw something for this story, but remembered there's a lily picture for this pairing...which I'm not surprised has surfaced here. Is that the type of itachi we're talking about with the distracting lashes?

Yeah, we agreed that two mini-Itachi's would be about as fun to read as a stock market report. There are other interpretations of Shisui out there that I think are probably closer to canon (whatever the hell that may be), so I think my characterization is on the more far-fetched end of the spectrum. I'm too attached to it to stop now, however D:

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THIS? (see above comments) Am I the only one too vanilla/uncreative to incorporate the yakiniku settings into my action scenes? Actually the thought did cross my mind, but I was all, "Nah, since their food never arrived the grill wouldn't be hot anyway." Overthinking...
Lily's interpretation is the second thing keeping me glued to this project (the first being my psychosis). Actually, she drew this one picture of Shisui and Itachi that I am utterly besotted with. Okay, here it is:
