I love how you equate Marcus' 'human' nature to a small flame in need of oxygen, that's a wonderful image! So pleased to see more Marcus/River from you :)

I esp. liked the part about the space-time continuum equation and Marcus' knowledge of it being such a sharp contrast to Jayne's more limited mental faculties *loves Jayne* and even more so than River's.
