the eragon books are really really good. it really sucks that the movie is a piece of crap... i really wanted to go see it...

Actually, I didn't think it was so bad (of course I was cuddled up in the darkest corner of the movie theater at the time, so I might have been prejudiced).

Of course, you're so right about the obvious parallels.

Did anyone catch the gratuitous removal of the 17-year-old hero's shirt in the middle of the movie? Can you say obvious ploy to get the girlfriend's interest?

PS: the droids are in the second movie.

Oh yeah we saw that and laughed, the making of a star and how to attract sexual interest in hollywood.

And I'm glad the droids are in the second movie it only makes sense to put them in there, besides can't always ahve the good guys winning now can we?

And hey how in the hell did Obi Wan or ahem Mr. Irons make it back to the bad guy castle so fast? anyone care to guess on that?
