The Sparkling Purple Paisley Dress that I ordered from The Pyramid Collection arrived today. I just tried it on, and it fits very well - it looks great, except for being about 6" or so too long, LOL. It is very comfortable and lightweight, very silky and floaty, with an elastic Empire waistline ( Read more... )

Ooo, I like the idea of a drawstring purse to go with the dress!

Looking forward to the pictures :)

Thanks! I'm not in a rush to get it to the seamstress - I won't be wearing the dress until our cruise in June, most likely - so it may be a month or two before I get it altered. :)

Well, I've got a long time to wait then, don't I?

Won't you wear the dress until next June?? I'd probably wear it before then .. patience isn't always my forte .. lol!

I guess it would depend if something came up that would require fancy dress, like a wedding, but we don't have any invitations to one yet and we rarely go anywhere for New Years Eve that requires fancy attire. For a $120 dress, I am unlikely to wear it "just because"!

It is gorgeous - I love the Pyramid Collection, it's great that they have such a good selection of plus sizes!

Nice idea with the extra fabric. If not enough for a shawl, it could possibly be used as trim for a shawl made with a coordinating solid, just thinking out loud...

I mean sort of an "evening shawl", like this. They don't use much fabric, although I may see if I could get the seamstress to layer a contrasting fabric on the inside, so I could wear either side out. Maybe a lovely teal or solid purple? Hmm...

That's the kind of shawl/wrap I was thinking about. Solid on one side and sequined on the other would be grand too!

Is this for a special event or just a fun buy? Great idea to make a purse or shawl or sash or something to go with it. AW

I bought it for the 12 day Meditteranean cruise we are taking in June - there are always one or two formal nights on a cruise, where dinner is a black tie affair. I figured I should order the dress while it was still in stock in my size!
