On Superman: I wonder how it would look if some of those pointy, sweeping elements in new-movie-Superman's costume were red. That would somewhat take the place of the red briefs and tie the costume together better--those red boots do look silly all the way down there. Do you mind the red cuffs on the new in-comic-Superman?
In my opinion, the new-movie costume looks okay, but I can understand why Superman fans would wonder what was wrong with his classic look. I'm a little surprised that there wasn't a greater furor over movie-Captain America's costume, but I suppose that it at least fit the setting.
On Ghostbusters: That article doesn't really tell us much about the proposed movie, it just mocks the points that the author found mockable. I do somewhat agree with him that "passing the torch" isn't what most people think they want to see--and isn't what I want to see--but perhaps we just haven't had a well-done "passing the torch" story in recent years and forget that they can be good. Superman comic book costume: The red trim on the new comic book Superman costume don't bother me, since it's a very minor change. Really, my only real objection with the comic book relaunch costume is the high militaristic collar, and all of the seemingly nonsensical piping. Erase the collar and remove the piping and I'd be fine with the suit.
One detail I don't understand with the suit is why they made a point to remove the red shorts only to give him piping that indicates the presence of the shorts. Seems odd to me.
Superman movie costume: The sweeping "things" on the sides and back of the movie costume just look out of place to me. They don't look like they're planned or properly part of the costume, but instead look like some "flair" added just to put something dramatic and different on an otherwise alright costume. Really they look as tacky and out of place as red flames painted on a Ferrari. My suggestion for the movie suit is that those details and the gauntlet/buffs are completely unnecessary, so they should be
