That "eh" chart is freaking amazing! Everyone downstate tells me I have a "Canadian" accent and that always brings up the Eh jokes... I try to point out that I've never heard any Canadians say it, but of course I'm never listened to. The chart is SO. TRUE.

And... would you mind if I linked to the dog commandments on FB? I have some friends who would really love it.

Feel free to save the dog commandments and post them to your Facebook gallery. It's not my picture, I found it online after all.

MalcolmD says: There's a lot here to respond to, but I'll restrict my comments to the following images, in order:
  • Girl dressed as Han Solo
I don't remember whether you've posted it before or not, but she'd be from that "Geek and Gamer Girls" video.

  • People who say "Eh"
Sorry to give the rest of you a bad name, but I'm Canadian, and I sometimes say "eh". It isn't exactly formal language though, and you're more likely to hear it from populations that aren't known for their cosmopolitan educations.
  • "He Can't Do It Alone: Enlist"
Brilliant--this poster should be plastered throughout the US, Canada, and Britain. At least.
  • Hoth Connect Four
That wampa is clearly an incompetent player of the game, eh?   :-P

- I hadn't seen the Geek and Gamer Girls video before. Very cute. I found that pic of her as Han Solo through some searches after seeing the "Super Harmony" dating video I posted in my February 19th journal entry.

- Some Canadians do say "eh", but it's not as wide spread as Americans seem to think. On average I'd guess I only hear it from 10% of people I meet. In particular, one of my (many) cousins and my younger sister both have a habit of overusing it. I think it's more of a regional thing. Most of the accents around here are similar to Upstate New York.

- I just wish I could find a higher resolution version of that "He Can't Do It Alone: Enlist" poster. Cause I want that framed and on my wall.

- Maybe so, but it's probably best to let the wampa win. :-)

MalcolmD says: Now I want to see some wookie on wampa violence.   XD   I wonder which would win.

I think it's interesting that people downstate think I sound Canadian while you've described your area as having an upstate New York accent. Guess we all sound the same.
