Even as she stares at him, absolutely stunned with her mouth hanging open, there is a part of her that is fiercely proud of him for doing what's right.

"When I do that, that's my whole life, packaged up and fired out a missile port. I have to start over from the ground up: new career, new friends, maybe even a new name." Alright, he'll admit that hurts, and more than a little. Unlike some rebels who have changed their names often during the war to throw off bounty hunters, he never did. Giving up everything, including his name... it's like giving up his past as well, including a gas refueling station that hung in the Corellia system.
"Since I'm on the verge of losing everything I have let, I need, I really need, to find out how I lost something earlier. So I don't do it again with anyone else. I need to know how I lost your regard." He's pleading, and he knows it, but he doesn't bother to stop. He has to know this - he can't stand making this mistake ever again. Once was too many times.

"Then how did I lose your friendship?" He asks, desperately, trying to sneak under her shield of intelligence gibberish. "Where did it go, how did I chase it off?" Pain tears at his voice, making it rough and strange to his own ears.
