He's wasting his time here. He's managed to get into Iella's apartment without attracting undue attention, but it seems all his efforts are for naught. She won't break ranks for him, even after he gave her his best argument. She sympathizes, of course - just because Iella Wessiri doesn't think much of him personally anymore doesn't mean she's a Sith spawn. But he had hoped...
She asks him if he needs anything else, and he shakes his head, no. He hasn't accomplished any one of the goals he had planned for this meeting. The situation has gone from merely grim to catastrophic.
"Wait. Yes there is." He charges ahead with one last desperate attempt to understand how he'd fallen so far. "Iella, if General Cracken orders me to play Turr Phennir's game with the aerial duels, I'll refuse. I'll resign my commission." He informs her soberly, knowing now that he's said it that it is absolutely true. He'd been playing with the idea all day, but there's no way he can suit up and shoot down eager pilots just because of some misgotten idea of honor.

(ooc: Disclaimer: Dialogue and situation lifted mostly from Aaron Allston's fabulous 'Starfighters of Adumar'.)
