Thank you for the exchange links yesterday! I was, alas, too late to sign up for xover_exchange, and apparently also too late to sign up for kradam_holidays, but I might just sign up for

I got kind of thirsty in the morning, but after a half-hour doze around two the worst of that let up and I managed the rest of the day without trouble. Spending it in my own head and thinking about where I'd be sleeping at this time next year helped a lot.
If deaths at the end of shows bother you, well...don't spoil yourself for Six Feet Under. All I'm sayin'.
I've seen that episode. And while I was not super emotionally attached to the characters, I really didn't think it was that sad... I mean we got to see them live long and happy lives for the most part, it wasn't random, unexpected street killings. (Although considering that the characters in The Wire are mostly cops and drug dealers, I can't say any of them dying is really truly unexpected...)
cleolinda's most recent post is about emotional attachments to fictional characters and reactions to the deaths thereof. It's got some decent comments sprinkled throughout, and yes, the general consensus is that unexpected deaths hit the hardest.
I saw the last episode after plowing through the show, so I had time to build up that emotional attachment. I'm now trying to think of other fictional deaths that got to me, and I'm having a hard time coming up with them. I'd better check my notes.
Well, I mean if you go into the origins of fasting, kind of. Like, if it were easy, why do it at all? (Of course the answer for me is "tradition", so I know what you mean.)
I don't usually get too attached to characters, but I was devastated when Spooks killed off a character I loved. I was pretty sure it was coming b/c on that show they kill main characters all the time, but I really hoped I was wrong!
I think the last time that happened to me was -- on House, I guess. And BSG maybe, because tons of people died there, but some characters kind of lingered post partum...

Boss (leaving for Yom Kippur): I'll see you next week.
Worker: Have a great holiday!
Boss: Um. Well, it's not really a 'great holiday' situation. Basically you fast and repent.
Worker: Oh. *thinks* Enjoy your repenting!
Boss: Um. Thanks.

I think my boss did kind of laugh in a "well, I've never heard that before" way.
