Fact A: A few weeks ago I discovered I was temporarily (hopefully) anemic, which means I am now taking iron and B-12 supplements and have put myself on a mad eat-as-much-meat-as-I-can diet, because dude, I want my blood healthy and also, good excuse for eating meat ( Read more... )

Meat's not the only way to get your iron, dollface. ;) If you can't eat enough meat to please you, there are enriched cereals!

Sigh, I know, but my working assumption is that I have an iron deficiency because I really haven't been eating too much meat and chicken recently -- like, I haven't really changed my eating habits recently, so I just assumed (as did my doctor) that was the main thing. And I do like meat, I was just lazy about making/buying it before... so I really am looking at this as an opportunity to go crazy with burgers and stuff.

Cereals are actually one of the only types of food I'm picky about eating. I like the chocolaty ones? I don't think they add too much iron for those...

(BTW: I am totally looking at your remix fic tomorrow! Sleep, then beta. Hope it's not too late...!)

No worries. It's not quite the way I want it (by which I mean "finished"); mostly I want to know if the perspective works. ♥

Get the sushi and save it for breakfast. It'll knock cereal right out of the park, I can assure you.

They had one sushi sandwich left, and that's exactly what I told them :-) And then I remembered that I wanted to make pancakes tomorrow morning. And then I thought to myself, I could make a pancake-sushi-sandwich? And then I told myself I really need to go to sleep.

Sushi sandwich. Sushi sandwich. Sushi sandwich.

...no, there's no way to say that and have it be even remotely correct.

And if you really want to boost iron levels, forget the muscles and head straight to the organs.

This is true -- I've also eaten liver in the past week, but in general those are harder to come by, as most places serve chicken or burgers...

Examples of sushi sandwiches: uno, dos, tres.

Y'know chocolate is also good for Anemia. Lots of iron in Cocoa. I'd call that a good excuse for a jumbo steak or burger with a big chocolate mousse for pudding!
