As she spun herself in a piruette, Joan was justifiably proud of herself in having solved this case with a minimum of assistance from Sherlock and Poirot - who was, here in this town at least, pointedly more than a literary character. Even the lump on her head felt more like a badge right about now. Taken into the arms of someone Joan suspected was more than a little sweet on her, Joan smiled and continued to dance.

On the sidelines, Belle, Ruby, and Actaeon applauded.

Joan's Thoughts:
This may be the best chance Sherlock has of finding a sponsor. And to do it, I had to locate someone who he wouldn't be able to find or reference on the 'standard' sponsor/AA circles.

Her name is Nikita.

I've presented this to Sherlock as the two of us (he and I) going out to meet a friend of mine whom I haven't seen since we were kids - which excuses me from any questions (til the night of the meet) about the personality, occupation, etc of Nikita; I'll excuse myself on some reason to let them talk. No doubt Sherlock has his doubts and may even have deduced that Nikita is in fact a total stranger...but he's gamely going along with all this. He can't possibly already know her.

He has mentioned, along the way, a suspicion that I would very much like to meet someone he met on a case once; payback, I suspect; but I'm not objecting.....one Colbie Granger. Colby Granger?

Speaking of, maybe we could have a drabble challenge there? I think that would be fun. :)

thank you; pleased you love it. I'll repost when I'm not the only one posting. (speaking from personal experience, it gets intimidating if all the fics are from the mod). but I appreciate the spirit in which you offer your praise.
