no, that's just in fanfics (Jack/Sam)...though there have been eps where one feels like one has just been slapped upside the head with the tarpon of nonsubtle-subtlety. (and TJ in eps follows Col. Young around with moon eyes)
you really really need to see it. if for no other reason than to see Dr Rush and 2nd Lt Vanessa James snark at each other. (Rush was in the movie The Tournament alongside Kelly Hu)
> Out of curiosity, any songs you'd suggest as other possibilities for Don/Alice? Or Don/Val? um...not sure if you know Dudu by Tarkan, or Yanarim by Sertab Erener...so are you familiar with What made you say that? by Shania Twain, or some of the songs by Jim Croce?
or She's got the kind of heart that breaks by Chris Cummings. very kickass girl, in that song.
Oh but the whole Col.Young and TJ thing is nothing new. As far back as episode 1 its been around, with heavy references to when Young saw his wife and her harpy allegations that he must be 'so happy' to be stuck with her and I seem to remember at some point TJ mentioning something about being the reason Young and his wife had the splitsville to begin with
( ... )
>harpy allegations I believe the term is "its not paranoia when they are out to get you" (til now, I've chalked that up to fear and emotions running high...and Col. Young's nemesis trying to sabotage him on Destiny and at home....but now? that might still be happening too, but Young just lost all his moral high ground - he should've stepped down and-or asked to be transfered from Icarus well before the attack in 1.01)
>but Young really wants to do the right thing this is good.
agreed - TJ's saying "No" definately threw him for a loop (though I kinda wonder if he initially thought TJ was staying so Scott wouldn't be the sole officer on the planet)
I think despite his relations with TJ, Young is a good man for the job. Who knows the circumstances of their relationship--we've only heard bits and pieces of it. True he was her CO, but who knows how it began.
If Scott had said he was staying behind first, I think Young may have had that assumption, but Scott clearly hesitated before saying TJ, Young reacted forcibly to that and then got silent when Scott said he wanted to stay as well. Up until he said all military personal, I was fairly certain he was just going ot demand that TJ and Scott return and to hell with whoever wanted to stay. Other than Greer I think they're the ones he counts on the most, and obviously in Greer's case he has to be more hands on, but Scott and TJ to that point had followed his orders with little to no countermanding.
Though that ties into this: Dr Caine, if you think that the aliens built the planet for you, why did they make the winters so harsh?
New Englander here - those winters don't sound too harsh :-); and they can probably move south. My beef with Caine is his hubris - the planet's built, but built for THEM?
he look on Rush's face when Col. Young said that if they'd met the aliens, Rush "would finally have someone to talk to."
I agree with wneleh--unless that planet had the same climate/season all over, they could move south until. I don't remember Caine being quite so...full of faith before. I understand why they thought the planet was built for them, but I'd be asking the question of WHY, not WHO. All Powerful geniesAliens don't go around creating planets for lost humans out of the kindness of their (metaphorical or otherwise) hearts.
And seriously, has no one else watched any scifi on that ship but Eli? A little caution is a good thing. Shoulder it. Live it. Love it when you're in hostile territories.

Best I can come up with is, they're the only people in *their* universe right now, so that make them the only people in *the* universe, at some level.

Eli is one of the few people who's pretty happy to be there - as opposed to his mom's basement. Missing mom, of course, but otherwise he's content, or at least not desperate.

Yeah, I'm okay. Out of curiosity, any songs you'd suggest as other possibilities for Don/Alice? Or Don/Val?

him and Dr Park.
Lt James and Dr Rush seem like they'd enjoy being out there more, if they didn't have to deal with people.
