Summary [abridged by reccer]: In a world where all difference is abhorred, Jensen discovers he is the worst kind of different.
Reccer's notes: In only a couple thousand words, this story depicts a totalitarian environment in which anyone who exhibits different characteristics-magical abilities, homosexuality, or anything else the State deems deviant-is systematically wiped out. And yet the story is not without hope. In the author’s note, the writer admits a dislike of writing and reading dystopian fics, which is one of the main reasons I love bingo challenges; they dare creators to attempt subjects or themes they might not otherwise.
[Short excerpt]The days are all the same and so Jensen does not think of his life in the context of his days, but rather he measures time against moments. Seconds or sometimes minutes stolen from the watchful eye of the collective. All of those moments include Jared in some way.
