Oh honey:( I'm so sorry to hear about this. I don't even know how I'd go on if I lost my husband.

:::hugs:::

I have no idea what to expect for Saturday because I don't even watch the trailer.

Yay for Merlin and squee. Merlin has saved my life. Quilting too.

You know, it's amazing what you can do when you have no choice in the matter...

Seriously, though, I surprised even myself. But I had to learn to be strong very quickly. Before we even knew he was ill, Don already had Stage 4 cancer. His disease was very aggressive and I was his caretaker through it: endless trips to the doctor, tests and more tests, treatments, waiting for results. It can make you crazy if you let it. But we just took each day as it came instead of dwelling on the big picture and it made it easier to handle.

I'd been doing all right until I got to September, which is the month of our wedding anniversary. Both the kids' birthdays, too. And this month because he was SO sick at the end and it's hard to force the memories away. I am looking forward to it being the second week of November so the FIRSTS of everything will be over.

*thinks she's going to go and watch some more 5x03...so many squee-worthy moments!*

Thanks! :)

You are right.

Wow. You have a good outlook on life.

Hope you have a lovely day today you life ruiner.

You are lovely to PM me that gorgeous picture of Alex and Colin. I was buzzing from the moment I saw it through sleep blurred eyes. EEEEEEE.

*hugs* Anniversaries are so damned hard, my Mom passed Oct 31...Halloween has never, and will never be the same.

Merlin and the fandom surrounding it has gotten me through some serious hell so I get that. I am kinda hopeful for Mithian's return this Sat but I was more excited for Uther's return last week.

Yeah, I am glad my kids are over and it doesn't ruin their trick or treating... My mom passed away in April, but it was many, many years ago now when I was very little, so I am sure your situation is much more difficult.

I admit I am excited about Mithian's return. She is one of my favorite bit part characters (George also comes to mind...). I personally think she would have been better for Arthur than Gwen (I used to SO love Gwen, too!), but BBC would never stray from the main myth, right? (Oh wait...seeing as Lancelot is DEAD, I guess they did! /sarcasm)

But I am afraid of what they are going to do with the actual storyline of the episode. More rehashing of the same old stuff, probably, and precious little character development. (except maybe for Arthur, but of course not Merlin. Oh well, that's what fanfic is for! *winks*)

Yeah, my mom passed under very difficult circumstances and well, we weren't on the best of terms when she did so it's rough. Lost both my father and grandfather (who lived with us from the time I was little) in April...it's another bad month for me. It's not the same as losing your husband but it still hurts pretty bad *hugs*

I adore Mithian! I wished Arthur had married her (and wished it at the time) she was a much better match for him but no, TPTB won't shake up Arthurian legend that much. Hell, in the end, they pretty much chickened out on changing any of it.

I doubt we'll see anything original this coming week, hell, we don't even get any Mordred. It's back to Borgana. Still, I look forward to seeing what our outstanding cast can do with a mediocre script!

I understand about the "not being on the best of terms" thing, but in our case, it was my husband with *his* parents. We had pretty much been estranged from them for several years before he got sick. They didn't live close by, but they were definitely *not* there for us while he was dying, so having them at his bedside at the end was rather awkward ( ... )

anniversaries are the absolute worst and they suck, and no wonder you are down, I know with my family we all get a bit funny around my mum's anniversary, dad especially. Its hard to put on a cheerful front, (and then there's christmas etc - it's awful when someoné's missing)

so *hugs from downunder* and I'll think of you (I have to make a cheesecake for my sisters birthday, so I'll send you a virtual slice!)

p.s I'm with you with this episode, but next weeks sounds really good!

It's funny; 1st Christmas, even though it was the first "big" anniversary for us was not that bad. We completely changed our traditions and made it a different sort of day, and that seemed to help ( ... )

Our first christmas was really hard, I suppose firstly mum always went crazy with cooking and everything, secondly my youngest sister moved to Singapore with her (then husband) and a 3 month old baby, so it was really small (my other sister isn't married - she has cats!)

I heard a JK Rowling interview a few weeks ago (with a Aussie journalist Jennifer Byrne who does a book show - it could be on youtube) and she was saying how when her mum passed she expected something to happen or change, but it never did - life keeps going on, and I remember thinking the same way!

Cheesecake made (its a Tiramisu cheesecake) but the top cracked, but that's ok I;ll cover it with chocolate!

for the following episode I'm just excited because of the potentional for
shakespeare ripoffs!

Yes, it really DOES just keep on going. It's strange how it does because you kind of expect the world to end and it doesn't.

I've kind of gotten smart it and when it gets bad, I Merlin! *winks*

God, I am so jealous of that cheesecake...sounds fantastic!

shakespeare ripoffs...like what?

Thank you, lauren. I really appreciate it! Exactly. I can put on Merlin and just escape into their world for a while. It makes the dealing with the rest just that much easier. :)
