Rock + roll progress report, spring semester oh-ten

I don't know why a lot of the big album releases come out in the spring, but that's what's been going on for the last few years. I've mentioned a few of these records before, but since then I've listened to some of them as many as a dozen more times.

No Contra or Treats? When does the spring semester start/end?

I'm a little overwhelmed with all the music that's come out/will come out this year. And yet the movies for this year, not as exciting.

I skipped Vampire Weekend and OK Go because I wrote about them a little back in January, and also they came out back in January. So I guess I'm treating it like a college semester: late January through mid-May.

I don't have anything to compare Treats to 'cause it's their first record.

Have you downloaded the new She & Him cover of Fools Rush In? There's also a Swell Season cover of "Young Hearts Run Free," which you may remember from the soundtrack to Romeo + Juliet. It's a Levi's promotion or something, so they'll no doubt use your email address for nefarious ad purposes, but I like the songs.
