Best fall dinner
Don't I love soup and bread? Saturday I used up some tomatoes and carrots from the garden, threw them in a pot with some stew meat, bought a nut and seed filled loaf of bread from Great Harvest Bread Co, and had a great fall dinner. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Heat Breaker
A co-worker turned me on to a way to cool down. Take a small sheet (or in my case, mom's embroidered dish towel), soak it in cold water and wring it out good. Then lay it on your legs or torso or across shoulders as you lay under a fan in your 90 degree living room and watch TV in a little comfort. Worked great. Cooled longer than a cold shower. -
No More Plastic
Explorer David DeRothschild is building a boat out of recylcled plastic bottles to sail with a crew across the Pacific. Great website: theplastiki.com. He is calling attention to the incredible waste in the oceans. Fresh Vegies
Last night I had a wonderful dinner, one of my favorites...plain old bean burrito. However, I rummaged through our new vegetable garden and picked 8 string beans and 2 carrots and boiled them up for about 12-15 minutes. The boys did not want to try them. Why is July 4th, 1776 America's Birthday?
Because the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, forever cutting it's ties with England. And that is why the 4th of July is really Independence Day.
