There is a lot of upset in the UK physics & astronomy community at the moment, because of a shortfall in funding which will result in the loss of a large number of jobs. I feel this is very short sighted, and sadly typical - in my opinion, science can struggle to get even a few million pounds in areas like this where it makes a big impact. The ( Read more... )

Well, that's my opinion, anyway. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this image of nebula IC4954 resembles a 94,600,000,000,000km willy. Well, we always knew God was a "big man" eh?
