There is a lot of upset in the UK physics & astronomy community at the moment, because of a shortfall in funding which will result in the loss of a large number of jobs. I feel this is very short sighted, and sadly typical - in my opinion, science can struggle to get even a few million pounds in areas like this where it makes a big impact. The ( Read more... )

I just read on the BBC that a London-based physics teacher has started a petition which complains that physics education is being dumbed down.
