I read on a Japanese website that Maxie and Archie are 40 years old.

Ooh, what site? And was it official or fan conjecture?

It's on this site. I'm pretty sure its official. You can look up the other characters too.

Pokeani's a fan site. A pretty reputable one when it comes to certain things, but still a fan site. And would an official site use PokeSho icons of the characters?

I think Lance and Clair are about 20's, Bugsy seems REALLY young!

Huh. I've always thought Giovanni to be the same ages around all the plots- Mato's style emphasizes a more cartoony, cute, kiddy look to ALL the characters. I think he's in his 40's?

Also, if you see the picture of him and Silver (the warehouse pic, when Silver's just like two), it shows him with quite a different hairdo and less receding hairline. Based on the hair/expanding scalp sickness, I would put him on mid forties.

They're not Team leaders though, they're Gym leaders.

Well, with Gio, Sugimori draws him looking younger too, especially in the redesigned art from the remakes.

Ah-hah, I *knew* I was missing something!

Yeah. If he had Silver in his twenties, he'd be older thirties when the Special starts.

The art is a cultural aspect though. Especially in changing times, the old are respected, but it's more considered the young who have the main roles and who do stuff. I'm not sure about the Western audience, but here, drawing him as older would have made him less of a formidable character. Drawing Giovanni as a younger person actually makes him seem a more dangerous and more powerful character.

And then there's the art style.

But then you have MoI, who's older than dirt...

However, it did kinda make Lance more intimidating, given that he seems to be early 20s in Special (as opposed to late 20s/early 30s on the show).

I've always thought Cyrus was quite young. Jarringly young, almost. The hair and eyes, I've always assumed, were evidence either of some trauma or (more likely) him working himself half to death under the conviction that no, his body doesn't really need to sleep, sleep is for mortals.

Well, the old lady in Sunyshore says that Cyrus lived there "a long time ago". But he's probably younger than he looks, for just those reasons. I mean heck, look at Oikawa (see icon), he's probably in his early 30s but he looks really old because of all the stress and trauma (of course, he's also posessed by a demon, but still).

Yeah, that's what MoI stands for.

Cyrus is VERY hard to get a lock on. Really the only indicator is that he lived in Sunyshore "a long time ago", but we don't know how long ago that woman had him (I'm presuming she was his teacher). Could have been preschool for all we know.

Haha, the song on the radio just had the line "is it so wrong to be human after all?"
